About the Event

「阿寒アイヌアートウィーク2026」（以下 AAAW）の会期に先駆け、今年度キュレーターチームに参加しているGASBON METABOLISMの西野慎二郎が、阿寒湖アイヌコタンで活動するアイヌアーティストお二方をゲストにお迎えして、主宰するアート複合施設「GASBON METABOLISM」にてトークイベントを開催します。

Ahead of "Akan Ainu Art Week 2026" (AAAW), Shinjiro Nishino of GASBON METABOLISM — a member of this year's curatorial team — welcomes two Ainu artists active in the Akanko Ainu Kotan for a talk event at GASBON METABOLISM, the art complex he directs.

今年度のAAAWの企画をアーティストと一緒につくり合う上での相互理解を深めるプレイベントとして、2026年のテーマ「ピㇼカㇻカㇻ ー美しいものをつくる、ということー」に沿って、各登壇者の「ピㇼカ」と、これまで「つくってきたもの」、そして今期のAAAWをどう盛り上げたいかを語っていただきます。

As a pre-event to deepen mutual understanding while shaping this year's AAAW together with the artists, the speakers will talk — following the 2026 theme "Pirkakarkar: On Making Something Beautiful" — about their own sense of "pirka," what they have made until now, and how they hope to enliven this edition of AAAW.

会場である阿寒湖から1500km離れた場所で、文化と風土を少し俯瞰して捉えてみるトークイベントです。

Held 1,500 km from Lake Akan, it is a talk that steps back to view culture and landscape from a slight distance.
